Shida Salehi is multi-disciplinary artist and architect based in Brooklyn, New York.

She received her Masters of Architecture from Staatliche Hochschule fur Bildende Kunste Staedelshule in Frankfurt, Germany. Prior to moving to New York in 2011, Shida completed her Masters in Architecture in Frankfurt Germany where she was exposed to not only architectural studies but an international perspective on contemporary art. Drawing inspiration from her spiritual practice where she captures and documents the accumulation of meditative experiences. Her abstract paintings focuses on seeking out emotive experience within the social and contextual condition. Utilizing various mediums Shida’s series of “chanting” paintings explore the repetitive notion of loops and carving into layers of dried paint to discover and expose visions and colour palette beneath. Her work alludes to dreamscape and spirituality. Shida exhibits in Toronto and New York.
